Biography
K. K. Downing first started playing the guitar after he dropped out of school and was kicked out of his home.On April 20, 2011, he announced his departure from the band he co-founded, citing retirement. However, in his autobiography, he cites severe dissatisfaction with the band's management, namely that a (perceived) coalition between Glenn Tipton and Jayne Andrews were edging him out of the ...
Trivia
Owns and runs Steel Mill, a rock/metal concert venue in Wolverhampton, UK.Stagecoach was K.K.'s first band, which he joined in order to start having some kind of income from music. They played pop covers.
It was early Judas Priest manager Dave "Corky" Corke, who gave him the handle "K.K.", by writing his name as Ken "K.K." Downing on an early gig poster. He liked it, and kept it.
