Biography
Rudess was born in 1956 into a Jewish family. He was recognized by his 2nd grade teacher for his piano playing and was immediately given professional tuition. At nine, he entered the Juilliard School of Music Pre-College Division for classical piano training, but by his late teens he had grown increasingly interested in synthesizers and progressive rock music. Was Dream Theater's first choice to replace Kevin Moore in 1994, but turned down the offer to play with The Dixie Dregs. Jordan reconsidered the position after playing with John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy in Liquid Tension Experiment, and finally joined the band in January 1999 to record Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory, replacing Derek Sherinian.He was a live keyboardist for Deep Purple ...
