Jonathan Nelson, (born December 15, 1962), better known as Jon Nelson, is an American guitarist, record producer from Culver City, California. Jon Nelson is better known for his time playing with the hardcore punk band Suicidal Tendencies after its previous guitarist Grant Estes departed from them before their self titled debut album was released. Although Jon had left Suicidal Tendencies in 1984, he did actually co-write the songs "War Inside My Head", "You Got I Want" and "Human Guinea Pig", which eventually appeared on their second album "Join the Army", released in 1987, three years after Jon's departure.
