Biography
Joseph "Joe" Duplantier is a French musician best known as the guitarist and vocalist of Gojira. He is also the former bassist of Cavalera Conspiracy, to which he was invited by Max Cavalera.Older brother of Mario Duplantier, with whom he's been in two bands, namely Gojira and Empalot.
Relocated to New York City in 2011.
Trivia
Some of Gojira's lyrical themes reflect Duplantier's personal beliefs in preserving the environment. He is part of the environmental corporation Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and has been a vegan for a few years.Owns and runs Silver Cord Studio.
Appeared on Michael Dafferner's 2010 documentary Why You Do This.
