Jason Newsted

Jason Newsted

Real/full name:
Jason Curtis Newsted
59 (born Mar 4th, 1963)
Place of birth:
United States (Battle Creek, Michigan)

Jason Newsted was the founder and chief songwriter in Flotsam and Jetsam, when he was asked to join Metallica. During the long live shows Metallica were known for, Jason would often handle vocal duties, mostly on the earlier material.

Jason decided not to marry (until 2012) and have children, in order to keep his full attention on music.

He is also the founder of the Chophouse Records studio and label based in California.

In 2006, Jason played bass on the Tina Turner single "Teach Me Again".
