Ian is mostly known as the singer of British Hard Rock band The Cult.


In 2002, Ian joined The Doors of the 21st Century, featuring original Doors members Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek.

He has also collaborated with Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, and British trip-hop group U.N.K.L.E.

Southern Death Cult renamed themselves Death Cult and eventually The Cult.
