Andrew Eldritch

Andrew Eldritch

Real/full name:
Andrew William Harvey Taylor
58 (born May 15th, 1959)
Place of origin:
United Kingdom (Ely, Cambridgeshire, England)

Andrew Eldritch is the singer, chief songwriter and only remaining original member of The Sisters of Mercy, a band that emerged from the British post-punk scene, transformed into a gothic rock band and, in later years, flirted with hard rock.

He is widely considered as the godfather of the Goth subculture, due to his image in the early 80s, and his work with his seminal band The Sisters of Mercy.

The Sisters of Mercy have not released an album since 1990's "Vision Thing", but they tour regularly and perform new songs.

Their songs have been covered by Paradise Lost, Cradle of Filth, Kreator and Crematory, among others.
