Roy Khan

Roy Khan

Real/full name:
Roy Sætre Khantatat
51 (born Mar 12th, 1970)
Place of origin:
Norway (Elverum, Hedmark)

Khan is principally known for having been the singer and co-songwriter for the American power metal band Kamelot from 1998 to 2011; previously he studied opera singing for three years and joined the Norwegian progressive/power metal act Conception from 1991 to 1998.

In a brief interview with local Norwegian media in 2014, Khan stated that he had suffered a burn-out and decided to quit the band ...

Khan was born to a Norwegian mother and a Thai father and took both their surnames even though he's mainly known simply as Roy Khan.

Khan's maternal grandfather, Kåre Sætre, was a major influence in his musical aspirations and is something Khan would state in several interviews.
