Biography
Paul O'Neill was an in-house producer/engineer for Atlantic Records when the label paired him with Savatage. O'Neill saw the potential in the Tampa band and started co-writing with them. As a result, Savatage started adding more classical, symphonic, and "Broadway" elements to their classic metal sound.Eventually, O'Neill would "borrow" the entire Savatage line-up for Trans-Siberian ...
Trivia
Although a guitarist and keyboard player himself, O'Neill rarely performed live.Scrapped the lyrics to "The Unholy" from the Gutter Ballet insert/booklet, as he thought they were a bit too old school for Savatage's new musical direction.
