The title and influence for the corporate hatred lyrics on the album came from the frustrations and troubles that Napalm Death were having with Earache Records. This album saw the band return to a more extreme death metal sound instead of their experimental material witnessed on the last few albums.
There is a hidden track after "Fracture in the Equation" (01:13) (the track's total length is 11:08 with silence included).
