The release date was set to Jan 22nd 2016, but the CD version of the album was already readily available for sale in December 2015.

A video for A Terrible Beauty Is Born was released on April 1st, 2016, "to mark the Easter 1916 centenary, as a tribute to all of those who fought and died for freedom, not just in Ireland but throughout the world."
The track is based on a poem by Yeats, about a failed rebellion in Dublin in Easter 1916.
