"This album is not about senseless violence but the internal struggle to find peace"

The 1989 film Der siebente Kontinent (mispelled Der Sebente Kontinent in the liner notes) by Michael Haneke is cited as the main influence behind this album.

The version of "Dead" on the original release caused Epidemic Records to be sued in court for use of Led Zeppelin and (apparently) Rolling Stones samples.

Tracks 11 & 13 previously appeared on other releases, however the versions that appear here are exclusive to this release.

Tracks 11 & 12 are based on Edgar Allen Poe and Clive Barker stories, respectively.

Recording information:

- Tracks 2-6, 8 & 14 recorded April 1992 at Reaction Studios, Toronto, Canada.
- Tracks 1, 7 & 9 recorded July 1992 at The Electronic Altar.
- Track 10 recorded in 1985 in James Cavalluzzo's basement.
- Tracks 11-13 recorded in summer 1987 at Old Reaction Studios, Toronto, Canada.
