Videos were made for the songs Turbo Lover and Locked In.

All tracks by Halford, Downing, & Tipton.

Originally planned as a double album called Twin Turbo, but eventually they decided to trim it down to one album. Some of the leftover tracks were reworked for Ram It Down (Ram It Down, Hard as Iron, Monsters of Rock, Love You to Death), while others remained unreleased, until they were added as bonus tracks on the 2001 reissues. Some of these are: "Red, White & Blue," "Prisoner of Your Eyes," "Turn on Your Light," and "All Fired Up." Another song from these sessions called "Heart of a Lion" appeared on the "Metalogy" (2004) compilation. Other 2 remaining songs "Under the Gun" and "Fighting for Your Love" have not been released yet.

The album title was inspired by the Porsche Turbo that KK Downing had bought shortly before the album's composition cycle begun.

Roland synth guitars were used on this album.

The producers of the movie "Top Gun" asked for the song "Reckless", to be included in the soundtrack, but they wanted it as an exclusive, and so the band decided to keep it on the album instead. In his 2018 autobiography, KK Downing regrets this decision.
