Concept album telling the story of the 16th century prophet, Michel de Nostredame (also known as Nostradamus).

A video was made for the song "War".

It was band manager Bill Curbishley who suggested they made a concept album, and brought Nostradamus and Rasputin as ideas for it. Bill had been involved in several concept albums in his career, notably with The Who.

The band considered making an elaborate stage production for the album, with actors and orchestra, in the style of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but they never did, mostly due to production costs.

"Alone" was originally composed for the "Angel of Retribution" album, but rejected. KK Downing reworked it to fit the concept for "Nostradamus".
