The title is a pun of Deep Purple's live album "Made in Japan" (1972).

Some versions include the song "Wrathchild".

A Venezuela version released in 1987 includes an alternate cover, showing Eddie beheading Paul Di'Anno. It is believed that this cover was made because this material is Paul Di'Anno's last with the band before his dismissal.

The bootleg reissues include the other songs that were played at the concert and not on the EP, plus Monstrose's live cover "I've Got the Fire" that appears as the b-side of the single "Sanctuary" (1980).
