- Mike Patton’s lyrics for "Land of Sunshine" combine messages from chinese fortune cookies with questions from a Church of Scientology personality test.
- "Midlife Crisis" features samples from Simon and Garfunkel’s “Cecilia” and the Beastie Boys’ “Car Thief”.
- First FNM album for which Mike Patton (co-)wrote music, and last FNM album to feature Jim Martin.
- A song that went under various working titles such as "Seagull Song" and "The Shuffle" was recorded during the making of this album, but wasn't included on the release.
