Although certain band members often dismiss this release as being "unofficial", this misleading claim is most likely due to their past problems and disputes with Necropolis Records. Founding Dark Funeral member David "Blackmoon" Parland (R.I.P.) has verified the authenticity of this release numerous times in various interviews. In fact, it was his own label (Hellspawn Records) which joined with Necropolis Records to release this LP, which is why the two record labels have their logos merged on the back cover as "Necrohell" (meaning: Necropolis/Hellspawn Records).

The reason this limited version was released was because the band's label at the time (No Fashion Records) had promised to release the album on both cd and vinyl format, but failed to release the vinyl version; this is what led to them releasing it on LP themselves through Necropolis/Hellspawn.

Front cover art by Necrolord.

Released in Gatefold sleeve with lyrics on the inside.

Printed in Canada.

A music video was made for "The Secrets of the Black Arts".
