Concept album, on the creation of the cosmos, and the evolution of the human species. Seen in context, the band wanted to distance themselves from both religious-oriented bands of that time (either Satanic or White metal), and bands who predicted the end of the world, usually in the form of Nuclear War. This was a scientific album, suggesting a bright future for humanity.

Phobos and Deimos are the moons orbiting the planet Mars.
