The title is a portmanteau of the words "terra" ("earth" in Latin) and "sitos" ("food" in Greek) and a paronomasia with the word 'parasite'. According to the band, this word has 2 definitions:
1. A devourer or destroyer of land or earth
2. Post-Anthropocene "Humanity"
