Retrospective compact disc compilation of the Canadian glam metal band Boize. It compiles most of the songs from their 1990 full-length "I'll Still Love You" (with the exception of the song "In Too Deep", as it was re-recorded in 1992 under the upgraded title "In Two-Deep") and their 1992 self-titled EP "Boize". The release was originally scheduled to be released by Demon Doll Records in 2016.Heaven and Hell Records delayed the release from April to September 2018. The release was announced for release on September 24th but was available starting September 4th.
Heaven and Hell Records claims that the "master sources" and "original tapes" were used to remaster the content of this disc but this is false. In fact, the WAV files from U-Iliot Records' digital reissues (2011-2012) were used, which themselves come from CD rips (1992 "Boize" EP) and Cassette Tape rips (1990 "I'll Still Love You" LP and 1991 "I'll Still Love You" promo tape), and not from the original master DATs. The Cassette Tape rips of the "I'll Still Love You" album and promo also underwent extensive editing and remastering in 2012 at Black Dog Mastering Studio because of the two cassette tape's age damage before it was re-issued digitally. That 2012 version differs considerably from the original 1990 DAT version of the album (featuring 9 songs) and the 1991 re-mixed DAT version released as promo tapes (featuring 5 songs). So this Heaven and Hell Records version is factually a compact disc re-issue of U-Iliot Records' 2011-2012 digital re-issues. The release does not feature any new or previously unreleased material; everything is also available digitally from U-Iliot Records. U-Iliot Records also released this same compilation digitally at the same time.
Heaven and Hell ads and the CD booklet are also filled with other inaccuracies claiming that the compilation features the original 1989 demo, while in fact, none of the 4 demo tapes recorded and released by Boize in 1989 appear on this release. It also has the wrong date listed for the self-titled Boize EP, listing it as released in 1989 while it was in fact 1992. Ads also misspell the title of the album as "Still In Love With You", instead of "I'll Still Love You". It also uses the wrong lyrics version of 1992's "In Two-Deep", using instead the ones matching 1991's "In Too Deep" recording, which vary slightly.
The artwork was adapted by Steven R. Cobb and is based on the original 1992 "Boize" EP illustration created by Hells Angels biker Francois Da Fonseca. The liner notes were lifted directly from Alexander Julien's official retrospective biography on Boize, originally published on Abridged Pause Blog, though no credits are given.
The release is limited to 500 compact discs.
