The tracks included in this live album have been recorded during Blind Guardian's 2015 European tour, promoting their tenth full-length Beyond the Red Mirror. According to Nuclear Blast, a total of 30 shows from that tour (on a total of 38 gigs between April, 2nd and June, 2nd) had been recorded "with an average length of 2 hours, 15 minutes per show". Singer Hansi Kürsch added that they had recorded also other concerts "during the worldwide shows", but the fact that the European "recordings were all already nearly perfect [...] was the decisive reason for us to only use songs from this first part of the tour".

"Tanelorn" (track 5, CD1), as it's printed on the official album, is actually called "Tanelorn (Into the Void)" in the album from which it was taken (At the Edge of Time). Similarly, "The Lord of the Rings" (track 1, CD2) is called simply "Lord of the Rings" in their Tales from the Twilight World album.

Recording information:

Recorded live in Europe during the Beyond the Red Mirror Tour in 2015.
Mixed at Twilight Hall Studios, Germany from February to March 2017.
Mastered at Wisseloord Studios, Hilversum, The Netherlands in April 2017.
