The opening melody is a reprisal of the original "Laura's Theme" from the film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me", originally composed by Angelo Badalamenti.
I chose to make this an instrumental because the music itself speaks the language of atmospheres: Dread, guilt, loathing, despair, anger, fear, disorientation, sexual confusion, and a mosaic of different emotions... just as the character herself represents in the film. This is not based directly on the 'who' of Laura Palmer, but rather the 'what' of her archetypal existence portrayed by her.
