"Into the Dead Sky" and "The Flames of the End" are instrumentals, but, in the booklet, there are comments for the tracks.
Two "making of" videos have been made: one by Earache Records and another by Banger Films.
The album is influenced by Luke Rhinehart's book "The Dice Man", which Tomas Lindberg had read around the time. There are passages from the book within the songs, and in interviews Tomas has said that the title is also derived from the book, "slaughter your soul and be free".
A video was made for Blinded by Fear.
