I have been into metal my whole life. I grew up in the 70's on Kiss, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, etc. In the 80's I discovered thrash metal around 85. I started collecting vinyl immediately, and by 1987 I was active in the underground circuit buying demos, fanzines, etc. My obsession became demo tapes around 1987. I have over 2000 original demos in my colllection, mostly from the years 1985-1994. My Swedish death metal collection is most to brag about, as I was writing to most of the bands between the years of 1988-1992. I've aquired some really ancient demo tapes (as early as 82-83) and of course a few later ones. I'm not very interested in the music of today. My biggest obsessions were German Thrash, Swedish Death Metal, and the early wave of Scandinavian Black Metal. As I said earlier, not much new music interests me these days, but I do enjoy more progressive stuff (bands that arent afraid to try something new, rather that all this retro bullshit). Some examples of stuff I enjoy recently: Sigh, Dodheimsgard, Ved Buens Ende, Melechesh, etc.
