I am currently a student of philosophy and musicology at Heidelberg, Germany.
Ever since I was young, I was never interested in conventional music. I never listened to the radio and I had very few songs back there, I really liked. On the other hand, a song, which I REALLY did like once, I still like today, no matter the genre.
As it was back then, it's still today. There are many metal bands out there, but only few I really do love. I have no trouble listening to metal, no matter how 'brutal' it is, but often I miss the interesting point. (No offense, if you love the 'conventional'-metal genres!) I like it, when I can listen through the music, that the musician(s) behind the music did it with their heart and brain and actually thought something about how he/they would write that album.
I also like some genres of electronic music, jazz and classical, including contemporary classic. This all sounds like I am some elitist musical bastard, but oh christ, there's few people I hate more than these faggots pretending to know everything about music. I think, I am actually a nice guy you can discuss with, without me trying to jam in my opinion into you.
Also, I hate mallcore. But not just for the music but mostly for the fans who think, they'd be the most metal badasses on the whole planet.
Favourite metal-bands include:
Behold... the Arctopus
Non-metal artists and bands, I like:
