I like Black Metal and Noise. Most other metal genres don't really appeal.
My rating system:
Rating in percentages is a ludicrous system, as is rating altogether, but for those weak minded inarticulate people who cannot infer anything from words and need a number to signify a person's opinion, here are mine. Most likely I will use the top scores from these categories and no other integers, i.e. 20, 40, 60, 80, 90 and 100.
00-20 - Dreadful. A waste of everyone's time and efforts.
21-40 - Bad. Maybe one or two ideas showing potential, but otherwise, derivative or unimaginative.
41-60 - O.K. One or two good tracks, possibly a great one but too inconsistent and lacking.
61-80 - Good. Likely to have many ideas and would be a worthwhile purchase for fans of a genre.
81-90 - Very good indeed. For bands with an exceptionally sophisticated or impeccably conceived take on old forms or excellent ideas and a progressive mindset. Probably essential.
91-100 - Incredible, groundbreaking albums only. Innovative, unpredictable and original releases that have the potential to, or already have, left a legacy or lasting impact. Unlikely to see many of these awarded to new records, mainly because it is impossible to tell a perfect album within a short time of release. If I do give anythign these near-perfect scores it's probably to albums am I currently a little too over-excited about.
