For me music is essentially Transcedental thing, designed to express an artist's inner self. With all the categories/genres being secondary and subjective, although unavoidable and quite useful. So I am not that obsessed with labelling and just dig everything that "works" for me or suites the certain mood right at the moment. Nonetheless I prefer Metal bands which retain balance between heaviness, melody and atmosphere, so mindlessly brutal "Death metal", absurdly raw "kvlt Black Metal" or happy "Power metal" rarely capture my attention. What is also important is Originality because Metal is heavily flooded with copycats.
Aside from metal I enjoy various types of music, including 70s rock, punk, "post-punk" and gothic rock, neoclassical (meaning Dead Can Dance-like stuff), Industrial and dark forms of Electronic music, dark ambient.
Here I mostly review the albums which I find Outstanding or just Good as well as the albums which are ok overall yet don't meet my expectations or seem overrated. I am not eager to waste creative energy on bashing albums which I really don't like, so no really negative reviews from me here
