| My passions are performing, writing, collecting, and studying metal and music in general. I am a composer, musician, grad student, and marimba tuner.
I am a professional musician and my career spans the acquaintance of over 20 metal bands. My lifetime project is a band called Idiom where I am pioneering the use of marimbas and xylophones into the genres of satanic deathmetal and sci-fi experiMETAL. I also believe in taking metal into new realms by using jazz forms and classical part writing. Furthermore, I am very much into non-commercial metal. I have an extensive collection of cassette demos I acquired during the tape trading days. Not to mention I think that bands that use drum machines are weak and they are not metal and do not belong on this forum. Yeah yeah, I can understand that musicians use drum machines much like those of us whom practice with metronomes. But the bottom line is that a true metal band would never use a drum machine on a release. I also feel the same way about "symphonic" metal bands that use synths instead of hiring or maintaining the real instruments or musicians.
