This DVD was captured on the 1983 Regal Theatre Hitchin show, featuring Sykes, Warton, and, of course, Lynott, Downey and Gorham. The show was great, one of the most powerful Lizzy concerts along with the BBC Radio 1 recording and the “Life/Live” album.
New classics such as “Thunder And Lightning”, “This Is The One” or “Cold Sweat”, and older stuff, like “Jailbreak”, “Still In Love With You” or the traditional Lizzy anhtem “Whiskey In The Jar” (a track difficult to find on a Lizzy concert) sound really great on stage. Sykes fits perfectly with the band, and his virtuosity is demostrated on this video. Thin Lizzy was on a fine moment, and it’s something you can realize watching this concert.
But on other hand, although the show is great, I’ve to say that the sound and image are not as good. Specially, in some songs, the quality isn’t even acceptable.
But, anyway this DVD is worth to buy, because there are really few visual stuff from that Thin Lizzy era. The Veo Star company has also released better DVDs of other rock/metal giants, such as Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Emerson ,Lake and Palmer. Unfortunately, I can’t explain why the quality is so different from those artist.
