This is some pretty good thrash, especially for 1994 when thrash was practically done away with. This album is quite a bit more catchy then the previous two, but some of the songs seem a bit slower than previous albums. This isn't a bad thing, because the riffs are better developed, there just isn't quite as many. This album has a pretty dark atmosphere as well.
"Only You Remain" starts off slow and builds up into a nice thrasher. "Empty Inside" is another good thrasher with some really well developed riffs, this is what you would usually expect from Poltergeist. "Those Were Better Days" is a decent thrasher. It isn't until "Just Doin' My Job" we see a real thrash beast of the highest order. This one shreads like no other. "Never Again" is a shitty ballad....SKIP. "Haunted House" is an intro to the title track that I could have done without, but the title track itself is another nice thrash tune, with some great lyrics. This whole album has some really well done vocals and lyrics. The bass guitar sticks out and plays quite a bit of counter point riffs to the guitar. I must also say that the guitar tone is pretty solid as well. "You've Seen Your Future" could have been the most atmospheric piece of work I have ever heard, except for this groove riff thing that they do. The whole song has great riffs, but they do this groove bullshit in there....and it just dosen't work. This could have been a masterpiece. Nice way to fuck it up guys. "Tell Me" is pure shit, that's all that really needs to be said. "Darken My Mind" is kind of average. It has riffs, but they just aren't that intense, some nice lead guitar though. "Living for the Games" is another average thrasher with some nice lead guitar as well.
Very memorable and catchy. At times a bit dull, but still not bad. This came out in 1994, I would like to see you find a better thrash album that came out in 1994. RECOMMENDED
