Nasum - Doombringer

They Deliver! - 100%

sysyphis, March 24th, 2008

I am not one to get into live albums. Live after death is an exception. I would rather just see the band live and take it as a real experience. Okay, so Nasum comes out with Doombringer. Seeing as I have everything the band has put out I even waited a few days before buying this.

I put it in and was fucking blown away like the guy in those Maxell ads sitting in the chair. The songs are a nice mix of old and new. Inhale/Exhale has a completly new life of ferocity that could not be captured in the studio.
Most of the songs are a blur but the sequenceing of the set list and the pure adreneline rush and downright hatefull feeling is a true force to be reckoned with.

Vocals are bat shit crazy and blend in perfectly with the music. Guitar tone is razor sharp and it is obvious these guys know each other well because the play like a well oiled machine. The crowd is great, there isn't any bullshit stage banter or in between tune ups. Just jumping from one to another with almost no interruption. The album running time is about 25 min. Just enough to get your fix without losing interest. These guys say in 25 min what some bsnds take 2 cd's or Lp's to do.

The bass is slightly inaudible but you can tell it does what it needs to do.
This band should be respected for thier killer discography and I for one hope they dig up some more shit for a DVD or other live songs. Call it milking, but I say bring the Doom!!!
