What do you get when you substitute the lead singer of pro-pain with Billy Milano...an MOD album that sounds exactly like pro-pain. I kinda got mixed feelings about this album, and I have a little bit of trouble taking this thing serious simply because of the irony behind the creation of this project.
First off, why didn't the guys from Pro-pain simply record this album with Gary Meskill under their own rescpective moniker? And any one who tells me that Billy MIlano wrote all these songs can go fuck a straw hat, because these are all rehashed Pro-pain riffs.
Overall the performances are decent, but let's face it, this album is about as technical as Kill'em All. There's fuck all to these riffs, or even the drum patterns relatively speaking. The solos are simply pentatonic and 12 bar blues generic solo patterns played in the same key as the rythm chords, over and over again...boring shit at times, most definitly.
The lyrics are typical Milano grumblings, occassionaly funny, but always politicaly incorrect, with that being said, a big thumbs up must be appointed for the lyrical content of this album.
I find it kind of amusing, that Milano who is always quick to bask on everyone like the fuckin' bully that he is, wasn't jumped on by more critics for completely ripping off Pro-pain in its entirety. I retrospect however, maybe that's why this album was never taken seriously. It is a fun listen from time to time, but their is absolutely nothing creative or innovative to be found here.
