It's an essential starting point - 100%

Judas Priest, one of the oldest heavy metal bands. I certainly can't say much about them other then that every person in the band is solid at what they do. Rob Halford's amazing vocals and K.K. Downings incredible guitar work seems to be the highlight of the band though. And those two things are flawless.

Well this compiles 34 tracks from the band's career. It certainly does a good job at it too. It packed in some of the greatest song ever written in the heavy/speed metal genre. Songs ranging from "Hell Bent For Leather" to "Painkiller" and everything in between. It certainly lives up to the title of, "The Essential Judas Priest". This would probably work as the PERFECT starting point for someone who is new to Judas Priest and their style of music.

Well this isn't something I'd go tell a die-hard Priest fan to get.Sine this doesn't have any 'rare' or 'previously unreleased material' I'm sure you won't need this CD if you already have most or all of their Studio Albums. It's like any normal compilation. Which means it's made for people just getting into the band or for people who only like certain songs froma band that are spread out over different releases.

Overall this is the perfect starting point for a new fan. Not a bad song here, but the best songs on here are, "Judas Rising", "Love Bites", "Painkiller", "Nightcrawler", "Blood Red Skies", "Freewheel Burning", and "The Ripper".
