Primitives / Transgressor

So this is probably going to be the only live album I will ever write about. The reason I want to even mention it is because of the fucking bad ass attitude that the Impetigo folks pull on this release, in true grind core fashion. But first the Transgressor side. This side of the EP is some fucking awesome death/thrash by a cult band from Japan. No more needs to be said, it is simply fucking awesome, not the tightest thing ever, but fucking killer in what they do, which is evil sounding satanic death/thrash, with a million miles per hour riffs, crushing guitar work, pummeling double time drums, low raspy vocals, the whole nine yards. It is an excellent piece of work.

The Impetigo side is a few live tracks. All of the songs can be found elsewhere and they do not play them any differently then usual. What is interesting about this release is that the singer shit talks the crowd through out the entire thing, calling them pussies and asking them why they will not fucking mosh. ‘I see every time we play here a couple of you assholes sit around in the back smoking cigarettes…GET UP HERE!’ Towards the end of the recording he mentions ‘these guys up here are cool. They are REAL people, not hair dos and costumes!!!!!’ I think this sums up the real grind ethic, real people, real devotion, etc. it is somewhat over played I know, but these kids make it sound so legit, that any grind freak would burst out laughing and hailing upon hearing it. This captures the essence of what we are fucking talking about over here. And as such it deserves a review. Download it if you can, or buy it for the Transgressor side.
