In 1990, Earth was recording its 'Extra-Capsular Extraction' ep. They recorded seven tracks with only three of them making the final product. The other four wouldn't resurface until eleven years later with the reissue of the 'Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitars' live album. Among this tracks is 'Divine and Bright', a two minute track that features a feel good riff and an actual drum beat. It also features the vocals of Kelly Canary of Dickless and Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.
The studio version is good, while the live version runs for roughly fifty seconds more. Its more chaotic and reveals the raw beauty of Earth's massively heavy drone sound. Kurt Cobain's vocals are just as excellent as they are on the original. This song is sadly being released underground due to Earth's eternal underground cult status. However, you can hear on the song on the 'A Bureaucratic Desire For Extra-Capsular Extraction' compilation. This song is, in short, musical history confined to the underground.
