When Lightning Strikes

Drakkar was one of the most known bands alongside Domine in the end of the 90's and beginning of 2000's in the power metal scene in Italy. The band has marked their return with the release of "When Lightning Strikes" in the beginning of 2012.

Their first both albums released with first vocalist Luca Cappellari are the best albums by the band and now they have returned once again with vocalist Davide Dell'Orto from their previous release "Razorblade God".

The only few highlights here are "Revenge Is Done" which is an ok song, "Winter Soldiers" and "We Ride" which is the best song of this CD, the only weak point of this song is the bridge to the chorus, the rest of this song is great.

I was expecting a lot more from their comeback album, I can describe that this might be one of the biggest disappointments of the heavy metal scene in 2012. Bring back the great voice of Luca Cappellari or compose songs like the song "We Ride" and Drakkar will become once again one of the most known bands of the power metal scene as of today we have many more power metal bands than in the end of the 90's.
