Fucking hell, indeed! - 90%

Abigail, the black force hailing from the far and distant Japan, have evolved from more traditional black metal to something that mixes Motörhead, Sodom and alcohol. A bit like Darkthrone nowadays! Ultimate Unholy Death is a piece of rocking motherfucking metal and a real dirty one!

The album kicks of with Bitch! Your My Angel and it´s jolly intro stomp might catch you off your guard before the real pounding begins. Yasuyuki Suzuki´s vocal work sounds like a whiskey-soaked throad and spews forth lyrics about metal, war, alcohol and sex. Ingenious, right? Well... while it may not be of the most original type of lyrical output, it works like beer to kill a hangover!

The album´s sound is very raw and unpolished. Youhei´s drumwork is loud and screechy here and there but clear nevertheless and Suzuki´s guitars and basslines are mean and audible. There are some tasty solos scattered throughout the album played by Jero of Gorgon and Shinichi Ishikawa of Sigh´s fame.

As closing words, this album is made to be played loud and it sure as hell is gonna get your beerveins pounding! If you want uncompromising thrashin´ and hellrising to serve your drinking and headbanging tempo, then Ultimate Unholy Death is your album of choice!
