The first incarnation of Johanna Kustannus Oy was declared bankrupt in 1984. When all the financial settlements were finally completed in 1989 Atte Blom immediately started a new record company of the same name.

During the early 2000s the company was again facing financial problems and in 2002 Love Kustannus Oy acquired the majority in company's stock holdings. Blom left the company in 2005.
