Label was founded in 1986 by Mariusz Kmiołek. Since then it issued music magazine Thrash'em All. In early '90s Carnage Records has represented many European labels on Polish market, including Earache, Osmose Productions, and Holy Records, and issued many exclusively licensed albums of well known bands such as Samael, Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Dark Tranquillity, Impaled Nazarene, Morbid Angel and Entombed.
The label changed name to Carrion Records in 1994 and in 2001 Mariusz Kmiołek founded Empire Records to focus on original releases instead of licensed ones ending Carrion/Carnage.
