Hi, I'm a drummer but 2 days ago I started playing guitar. My dad taught me too chords and had me practice some excercises, but I just wanted to learn a song. Yesterday I taught myself Transylvanian Hunger by Darkthrone So now I'm asking, can someone give me some metal songs that are for beginners? Sorry if I haven't made myself clear.

Transylvanian Hunger? Cool. That's always a nice one to start with. If you liked playing that, find the tabs to Too Old, Too Cold. Pretty easy as well.

Metallica - Whiplash
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Obituary - Redneck Stomp

I started playing with simple riffs, without alternate picking and sort of slow, you should try Breaking the Law, Iron Man (overused?) or any other Black Sabbath song.

Seek and destroy by metallica is great for starting out becuase the riffs are simple but very fun to play.

anything off the paranoid album is fairy simple

If just starting out I recommend learning stuff from traditional metal bands; Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, ect. Also since you can play transilvanian hunger you should be able to play pretty much almost anything DarkThrone has written. Also look through this thread,
