i know this has nothing to do with this thread but i thought i should ask before making any changes: should beherits 'the oath of black blood'album appear as a compilation rather than a full-length seeing as it is just 2 earlier eps put together?

i ask because its always been listed as a full-length album so i thought their might be a reason for that. :)

I always wondered the same thing. I suppose one reason for keeping it as a full-length would be because it's not mentioned anywhere in the booklet that it's anything otherwise. Anybody with just basic knowledge of Beherit generally considers it a full-length, at least from my experience. I didn't find out the truth myself until I started tape trading and got the actual "Demonomancy" recording...

Of course, another possibility is deleting "Oath" altogether and adding sub-notes to that demo that read: "Later released (bootlegged?) on CD and vinyl by Turbo/JL America with bonus songs from the 7" picture disc." :p

I think any way you look at it, it opens up room for debate.

User DMR is linking to RealMedia files of 80's stuff from this site: http://vibrationsofdoom.com/test/index.html

nah, it belongs here because it was an official release by the label which counts as an official release according to the rules here (like deicide and obituary best-of albums on roadrunner which weren't approved by the bands).

also, its not really a bootleg seeing as beherit did get paid for it.

those links actually are useful, but they aren't legal downloads which means they probably don't belong. though mp3 pages are useful for lesser known bands, but this should be kept to downlaods the band have made public themselves (IMO).

Beherit album changed to compilation.

Khronos: That's ok. He was adding those links for obscure 80's bands.

Ok, I thought about that this could be easily a legal issue.

But of course it's ok to promote lesser- or unknown 80's bands.

I took some points off him and sent a pm.

Edit: I received his answer, and he claimed that his site is good for french speakers. I gotta agree with him. The biographies aren't one liners, and it might interest those who preffer to read articles in french.

Just a heads up: user vection is updating well-known bands starting with the letter a. I think he's adding links to Metal Kingdom, not sure though. But he's definitely point-whoring.

NightmareInc is going down the list adding Aquarious Records to tons of bands. Currently in the Ws. Not sure if that is considered as point whorring though.

If he's adding links to bands that were/are signed to them, it's not considered pointwhoring.

I guess he was pointwhoring: he added a link to that label on AD HOMINEM's page: no relation at all with this label

Yep, Aquarius Records have a quite big mailorder I think and he adds this as merchandise. That's as useful as linking to amazon.com. Some people did this in the past for nearly every band with heavymetalonline.co.uk and catacombscds or something like that.

I've removed half of his points and sent him a pm. If he continues, I'll ban.

That merchandise section should be called "official merchandise".

Yeah it should be. it is confusing. I used to think that labels went under OFFICIAL.

AQR aren't a label at all (although one of their employees runs Tumult) just a store and mailorder. And they do sell Ad Hominem.

User wicked_world is suspiciously adding "official merchandise" links to Evil Legend Records for Oz, Omen (US), Protector, Raven Black Night, etc.

I don't know unfortunately! I know he updated many bands of the letter "A" (Amon Amarth, Anaal Nathrakh, etc..) getting each time 2 points

Hmmm I'm sorry if that shouldn't have been put there. I read in the biography of the band that they recorded that demo, sold it at shows and put it on MP3.com before the site went down.

I don't want to make a thread just for this.
I've got a problem with updating data on bands. When I click on update I'm going on a blank page (the site was working properly).
Do some of you have this problem ?

http://www.metal-archives.com/userprofi ... PyroVesten
I think he just added three useless "fan site" links at the Psycroptic page a few days ago. I've seen those PyroMusic links added on other band pages, too.
