This post could be called LA Connection. I watched a Thin Lizzy doc and noticed that the band's location at MA only feature Dubin when it's pretty well known that the band moved to the UK as early as 1971. Then I checked some more pages of well known bands and noticed that some of the most famous may be wrong or unaccurate. It's true that a band's power to move from a location to another increased with fame/sales, but some general lines should be set for the sake of truth.
I could change it myself, but I prefer to bring up the discussion instead of someone take that as an attempt at trolling.
Some clamorous cases I've found so far:
-
Thin Lizzy's location should be changed to Dublin, Dublin (early); London, England, United Kingdom (mid); Los Angeles, California, United States (reunion)Phil Lynott's solo project location should be reconsidered, too.Sure the band was Irish in spirit, but I'm sorry...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin_Lizzy"Around March 1971, the band permanently relocated to London, before the release of the unsuccessful "New Day" EP in August." The band was still there when Gorham joined in 1974. There are plenty of evidences of this. Lynott passed away in the UK. Do I need to be more exhaustive? Plus, isn't the reunion located in Los Angeles?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Gorham"After months of pre-production and two weeks of rehearsals in Los Angeles in November 2010, this version of Thin Lizzy started a world tour in January 2011"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricky_Warwick"He is now married to Christina, and the couple live in Los Angeles with their four children"

Rainbow's country should be United States and location Los Angeles, California (early); New Canaan?, Connectictut (later).
Somebody may investigate further if New Canaan is correct.
MA page says London. Their Wiki page states Hertford as Origin, but that was (the first) Deep Purple. They were most likely formed in LA, as set in this page:
https://www.thehighwaystar.com/rosas/misc/dio.htm"Right after the split-up of Elf, four members of Elf (Dio, Driscoll,
Gruber and Lee Soule) and ex Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore
formed band called Rainbow. The name supposedly came from the Rainbow
bar located in Los Angeles, where Elf and Ritchie Blackmore used to
spend their free time.
This band is also known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, as it appears
under that name on their first album, but that name was used only to
get people to notice the band. Generally, everyone except Blackmore felt
bad about the name, so on the later albums the band was called simply
Rainbow. The band [that is the remains of Elf] moved from the East Coast of USA to California, USA."
According to Ritchie Blackmore himself in 1975:
http://www.theuncool.com/journalism/rs1 ... blackmore/"Listen, we get the brunt of a lot of disrespect. People get pissed off that ‘those fucking long-haired hippies’ are making so much money. The tax people have gone berserk over us. They’re really trying to skim us. We’ve all moved out of England. I live in Oxnard. Glenn Hughes [bass and vocals], David [Coverdale, the band’s lead singer], Jon and Ian live in Los Angeles now. I’m sure they’re trying to make an example out of us." ... which will later bring us to Deep Purple!
By 1978 Blackmore (and all the band) moved to Connecticut.
https://metalinjection.net/editorials/b ... onnecticut"Dio would share his own personal UFO story noting that it all went down in a house he and his former wife Wendy had just moved into in New Canaan. The rest of the members of Rainbow had also just relocated from Los Angeles to Connecticut as well, including Ritchie Blackmore (another UFO believer, we'll get to that in a minute) and his third wife, Amy Rothman."

Deep Purple's location should include Los Angeles, California, United Stateshttps://www.tommybolin.com/history/deep-purple/"In May 1975 they relocated to Los Angeles for tax reasons. In June the band rented the Columbia Sound Stage in Hollywood for rehearsals and auditions."
More info here (pages 169-170):
https://issuu.com/codarecordsltd/docs/d ... al_editionThis would cover their activity in the 70s. Further investigation is needes for the location since 1984.

Dio (the band)'s location should include Los Angeles, CaliforniaIn fact, the band's first lineup was completed in London and then they moved to Los Angeles. Wasn't his last home there? Have they ever been based in New York?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3174Uj6Elwhttps://www.metal-rules.com/2019/06/26/ ... -and-more/"In fact, I was listening to HEAVEN AND HELL intensely the night I got the call. I’d been listening to it for weeks and then the phone rings. It was Jimmy Bain, at 2 o’clock in the morning. So that was quite a coincidence. So yeah, I was a big, big fan of Ronnie Dio which is also part of why it was weird because when I fly to London, I meet Ronnie Dio, and I’m like, “Whoa”. I met Vinny Appice, and I met Jimmy Bain,” I was in awe of all of them. Then a couple of weeks later I’m in Los Angeles and we’re in the studio writing songs."
Someone may know more cases or can get deeper into these ones. What do you all think?
