Hi, I'm looking for heavy and disturbing bands, even more than bands such as Wormphlegm, Senthil, Meth Drinker.
Those mentioned bands are for me pretty soft in fact, so I was looking for heavier, in vain.
If someone can suggest me some bands, Thanks !

Not sure what exactly your criteria is, but Khanate might be a step in the right direction. Super droney metal with deranged lyrics and an amazing vocalist.

The Full Of Hell/ Merzbow collab should be right up your alley, although it's not Metal.

Try Funeralium. I've only heard their demo.

If you want something very noisy then you could try Vonn.

Can't stop listening to this track:

My personal favorites:

My personal favorites II, this is more of an 'epic' sounding song, check out their other stuff too:

Pure chaos, pure art:

I remember when I first heard Paracletus by Deathspell Omega I was filled with some sort of religious dread haha, so maybe try that. It's basically Gorguts inspired Black Metal and it is, for want of a better word, wrong and abhorrent.

+1 on Gnaw Their Tongues, also try Diabolicum, K.F.R, Revenge, Plecto Aliquem Capite, Ossadogva for more black metal insanity.

Bands from other genres that might interest you are Intolitarian, The Body, Einstürzende Neubauten, Whitehouse, Throbbing Gristle etc.

From a gore p.o.v., try Last Days of Humanity.

Also give Psyopus a shot, very underrated & original band.

I never thought of Neubauten as a "disturbing" group. I'd consider myself a fan (up through their early 90s period anyway) but never found their music truly disturbing.

As far as TG goes, the members were far more disturbing as actual people than any of the music they made.

Re: Whitehouse, I went through a big phase with them over a decade ago and wound up growing out of it and sold off most of my collection of WH related stuff. The tipping point wasn't any of the "music" they made but some of the "discussions" by "fans" that took place on a related Yahoo Group email list.

@ cvac: While looking for industrial metal back when I was discovering metal as a whole, I happened to come across these sort of bands. Back then it scared the shit out of me. Haven't listened to either in years so maybe you are right. Also any straight industrial band you'd recommend?

Nobody mentioned Portal yet, check this twisted shit out:

Most of the best industrial music was made in the 70s and 80s IMHO. There isn't one specific band I'd recommend from that era, because many bands moved on from the industrial sound into other territory after only a couple releases sometimes. As far as later industrial bands, most of the later stuff I hear does not impress me at all. The best industrial band in the last 20 years for me was IRM from Sweden. I don't really find a lot of their stuff disturbing though, and I doubt they are what OP is looking for.

Re: Portal, only heard them fairly recently because I stopped following a lot of new bands in the late 90s. I've liked some of the stuff I've heard but they don't shock or blow me away per se.

I'll be honest, nothing is really disturbing for me anymore at least at face value. However, given the perfect circumstances, lets say bad weather, dim lighting, alone in a big house in the middle of the night etc., this sort of stuff can get to you. The thing that truly disturbs me is the paranoia that sets in and takes a hold of the senses, like somebody is following me or I'm gonna' run into some fucked up shit. Not trying to be edgy but the misanthropic sentiment has gotten so firm that gore doesn't faze me the slightest. After all one can only witness so many album covers with mangled corpses before it becomes commonplace.

All I can say is that when you are over 30 and pushing 40 a lot of the stuff that might have seemed "extreme" when you were 15 or whatever just seems pretty juvenile and boring. I'm pretty well past the point of trying search out the latest gore rehash or whatever that's trying to one up what bands were doing years ago.

What about Stalaggh/Gulaggh? They use real screams from people in mental institutions. Pretty disturbing if you ask me

speaking of deathspell omega: while I'm not the biggest fan of their post-inquisitors stuff, two tracks stand out to me as truly "disturbing": diabolus absconditus and mass grave aesthetics, both being around 20 minutes long.

not sure if that's what you're looking for though.

The Gerogerigegege is pretty disturbing. Extremly funny too!
Unless of course crawling around in shit, pee, vomit, screaming like you were set on fire, public masturbation and S&M sessions + noise is not disturbing enough. :-D

Can't believe nobody hasn't mentioned SPK yet. Their first two albums (and their recordings before that) were the pinnacle of their career.

I think one could make the same statement about any band one likes. It's not disturbing if you're into it - as I don't think one can be "into" any music if it's disturbing you: the disturbance must detract from the pleasure, obviously. So, this is all a bit biased from the start imo.

Basically all Mories (GTT) projects are deranged.

Wold, absolutely twisted stuff, harsh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvVtpEKuXOo

Amocoma https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL9QPpbz2G0

Mamaleek, electronic influenced experimental black metal, able to build an atmosphere unlike any I've heard before. Might not actually be that disturbing but it's out there nonetheless https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbzTVHT4Llk

Gormantatinus, apparently a Korean Abruptum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILUcTLJ92-k

Have you heard of Today is the Day? They're the kings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7SQ5Zi5E8s

As for Whitehouse, the really disturbing stuff is not the noise/power electronics they do but their three pure sample tracks in the 90s, "Private", "Public" and "Bird Seed". FUCK, that's messed up. Just get those three tracks and listen to them from start to finish without interruption or distracting yourself.

SPK is the full name, yes. Aussie industrial pioneers.

Disturbing is one of those "eye of the beholder" things.
Not sure what this does for you, but found myself creeped out by it in broad daylight, not an easy task.

Larger than life drums, ultra-downtuned rhythmic guitar noise, gutteral vocals and keyboards reminiscent of Silent Hill. And those lyrics in combination with the aforementioned instrumentation O.O

I mean by stuff that could give me the creeps, those bands that shows in music the filthy side of mankind, or hell or torture, with the same level of filthiness and abrasivity, yet really unexpected stuffs. I heard of some bands that used torture screams, or the same shit in their music, But it wasn't Stallaggh or Gullaggh, it was creepier than GTT, and pretty doom-like

In terms of music

I'm going to recommend Endless Dismal Moan

a DSBM one man band from Japan the project is no longer active since the only member and mastermind behind it committed suicide.

I don't know if its so much disturbing id say its more eerie which might also be what you're looking for lots of eerie sounding piano and keyboard noise and the vocals are just inhuman

Wormphlegm, might be in the bottom range that I consider as disturbing, yet only their demo Excruciating [...] is. Endless Dismal Moan is eerie, but not disturbing to me.

Heavy and disturbing:

Anyway, it's just music. You're never going to find anything that disturbs you again after you've crossed the line that divides lamestream pop from dark and evil underground music. You're mind just isn't going to be blown by whatever random nazi power electronics band you can dig up the way it was when you heard Venom at eight years old and realized there was an alternative to The Beatles.

Any anyway, do yourself a favor and scrounge up a copy of the Warcom Media comps, "Men Among Mice" and "Plan 8 From Outer Space". They are "disturbing" to boring normies, but you will probably find them quite amusing (good mix of warfare and comedy).

I could see people finding Nattefrost's solo project to be disturbing, I personally find it charming and pretty funny though.

Bands that blend funeral doom and drone metal tend to be more unsettling than depressive. I've found a handful of them that actually make me feel uneasy or anxious because of how depraved they sound.

Monument of Urns is pretty damn disturbing. It's extreme doom sort of in the same field as Wormphlegm, Khanate, Senthil, etc. but even more sparse.

Ditto on Trees. The vocalist has some really unsettling screams, and the general atmosphere makes me imagine being slowly burnt to death.

Sortsind is really raw, depressive black metal that borders on noise at times. I haven't heard their second album, but their first album Sår gives me the fucking creeps.

Daarlig Stemning seems to have been a side-project of Sortsind, as it had two of the three members of the band (one of which apparently committed suicide). It is also black metal, with a depraved and mentally ill feeling to it, without really sounding sad or melancholic.

Try Dead Mans Hill, the album, Esoterica Orde De Dagon seemed very creepy to me, and fairly engaging as well. Quite the nightmarish soundtrack.

Have you tried Woods of Belial? Particularly the "Baxabaxaxa....." demo. They were one of the earliest "torture doom" bands out there.
