Hey all,

I believe I could do the inwards death grows decently. However, I want to know how to maintain doing them for a longer period of time without getting exhausted really quick. For example, if I have to go for an hour of death growling, I don't want my growling only lasting for few minutes before it dies out.

What do you do to maintain a good level at it?

Thank you

Don't bother with inhales, they're just not worth it.

If it hurts, you're doing it wrong. Other than that, experiment with making noises until you find something you like, then just practice. You won't be able to go for ages straight off, just like you can't go into a gym and squat 250lbs right away. Keep hydrated, stop if it hurts, use your diaphragm, and you'll be on the right track.

Don't fuck with inhales. At all.

Seconding keeping hydrated. Try to build up to it.

I agree with all of the foregoing comments.

I'll add that exhales, aside from all their other benefits, probably help maintain a natural breathing pattern while performing, which should help prevent fatigue. You'll not only be more powerful and comfortable (and less susceptible to injury), but you should be able to keep going longer too. Just gotta build a foundation first.

Honestly, of course it all depends on the type of voice you have to work with. I mean would you ever want to hear Joey from Anthrax attempt to Death Growl? Wouldn't work....If you are a capable vocalist and have a natural edge to your voice go with the regular (clean) vocals. If not try something else. You should put a sample on for us to hear....
