DARKER HALF - Never Surrender
Image
Darker Half's 3rd Full Length release Never Surrender is rooted in traditional metal while drawing on many other influences both metal and otherwise to create a unique, energetic and heavy sound. Twisted dual guitars and explosive solos riff across a rock solid yet inventive rhythm section, topped off by a vocalist whose range can match any of rock's greats, making this a band who can really set themselves apart. Melodic, soaring choruses, positive lyrical themes with an old school us against them thrash vibe. With explosive, Children Of Bodom meets Rust In Peace era Megadeth solos everywhere and plenty of double kick fury, galloping riffs and urgency across all ten songs.

Never Surrender Tracklisting:
1. Nemesis
2. Never Surrender
3. End of the Line
4. Stranger
5. As Darkness Fades
6. Duality
7. Blinded by Darkness
8. Lost in Space
9. Heads Are Gonna Roll
10. Anthem for a Doomed Youth

HIVERNA - II. Macabre - New Album
Image
II. Macabre by the French (Québec) Canadian band Hiverna is a Folk Black Metal album, one of those albums that has pretty much everything a Folk Black Metal fan would ask for. Incredibly well-written guitar riffs, a wise use of flute that add a balance to these shredding guitars, a bit of acoustic guitars and mandolins here and there to add an oldish flavor, really good drumming, and Vocals that are perfect. Another big step forward for Hiverna.

II. Macabre Tracklisting:
1. Tous morts, tous pourris
2.Boréal
3. Le Satyre
4. Sang
5. Hiverna
6. Outre Tombe
7. Malice
8. À toi, Venin des songes
9. Âges
10. ... Et l'Immortalité
11. Le Grand Bucher
12. Folklore Macabre

DIABLERY - Architect Out Now

Image
Black metal is a genre heavily dependent on atmosphere. And Diablery`s Architect album, from the beginning to the end, sounds like a metaphysical journey through dark, unmeasurable realms of undescribable emotions, free from any corporeal bound. There's no questioning how daring and diverse this music is, nore how much talent and effort was put into its summoning. Every single member of the band is 200% into it, and it shows. No noisy crappily added mindless shredding just smooth well placed majestic measured music, added as another layer on a seemingly perfect work of musicianship and songwriting.

Architect Tracklisting:
1. Mysteria Aeterna
2. Architect of Manifestations
3. Embraced by the Theurgist
4. Vanity of Darkness
5. Magistris Inferiores
6. Thus Made Perfect
7. Seal Thy Mouths with Pillars of Azurite
8. Ichor Shrine Synagogue
9. Blackness Enshrouds This Congregation
10. Horn of Amentet

H5N1 - A Time Of No Tomorrows Out Now

Image

Canada`s H5N1 can not easily be pigeonholed, drawing their inspiration from a multitude of sources and merging them together into their own unique vision of Death Metal. H5N1 may be best described as "Apocalyptic Industrial Death Metal".
H5N1’s first full-length and follow up to their well received 2009 demo "Biochemical Warfare Kult", "A Time of No Tomorrows,” is a Death Metal album that will annihilate the vast majority of today’s trampled standard with original brutality. With a steady mix of brutality and cesspool churning slowness, offering vomitus mouthfuls of energetic Death Metal with plenty of cool samples, manic drumming, and some splendidly spiteful vocal work. Including dual Bass Guitars! for added thickness. The group knows how to make the best of all references that underlie their own work, and manages to forge an identity, with thick and heavy tremolo picking weaving its way over it in order to create the main riffs to the songs. The power of the riff, understanding of song structure and the balance of repetition all work to great effect.

A Time of No Tomorrows Tracklisting:
1. Biochemical Warfare Kvlt
2. Desanguination
3. H5N1
4. Ministry of Supreme Hemorrhagic Revolution
5. Embracing the Pandemic Principle
6. Deliverance of Apocalyptic Virulence
7. Abomination Hymn
8. Plague.Famine.Death
9. A Time of No Tomorrow

Kafirun - Death Worship OUT NOW - Canadian Black Metal

Image
Image

Hailing from Canada, Kafirun’s Death Worship EP is the reflection of hate and darkness that dwells in man’s heart. Eternal glorification of the ever devouring darkness and death, dissolution of the soul and life!!! Spiritual death and re-creation of the self over god’s image. There are no keyboards. There are no flutes. There are no abrupt digressions into other styles of music. There’s no fusion with folk or trip-hop or other non-metal. There aren’t any operatic vocals, or angelic female vocals – no sung vocals at all, in fact. On “Death Worship”, atmosphere comes first, and to generate it the band seems to draw from every aesthetic resource available within their chosen discipline, rapidly shifting between mid-paced guitar churning, blasting tremolo and a few slower segments as the situation demands. Religion hating, true Black Metal from start to finish.

Death Worship Tracklisting:
1. Beyond The Flesh Vessel
2. Killer Of All Man
3. Thousand Spears

UBUREN - Withered Roots New Album

Image

Norway's Uburen do not create their "Viking" atmosphere by playing "nice sing-along boy-scout-campfire" melodies, like some other so-called Viking Metal bands are doing, but by stirring violent emotions in the listener that make him/her dream that they are taking part in a bloody Viking raid. The music is ferocious and harsh, but is full of underlying melodies and adds a real majestic and monumental feel to it. Withered Roots has many sides. Somber, malicious, cheerful, or bittersweet. Be it black metal tinged with gorgeous melodies, or 100% authentic sounding Viking Metal movements, it's all powerful, gripping music. From the second the intro ends, into the pummeling first riff which you won't be able to stop yourself from headbanging to, all the way to the melancholy, bittersweet closer, this album is attention grabbing, and reeks heavily of everything Viking, Pagan and Black Metal. It reeks heavily of everything done right.

Withered Roots Tracklisting:
1. Aegir
2. Sea Of Deceit
3. Asmegin
4. Blood Eagle
5. Escape
6. Voluspaa
7. Kampen
8. Deprived Of Empathy
9. Forgotten Battlecries
10. Visions of Valhalla

Ignis Haereticum - Luciferian Gnosis OUT NOW! via Goathorned Productions

Every now and then an album comes along that literally knocks us out. This is Black Metal the way it should be, raw yet accessible, Ignis Haereticum's Luciferian Gnosis is as emotional and atmospheric as it is unnerving and downright filthy. The use of melody is genius as everything is washed away in a sea of dissonance and anger. This recording conjures forth the sensation of becoming astray in eternal night, slowly choked by death in the thickest fog. The production is fitting with the heaviness and atmosphere of the songs resulting in the achieval of certain lucidity and gripping power. This exists within the minority of all recordings that seem to 'come to life' every time they are played as a tangibly clear emanation of ancient darkness is emitted from the speakers. This album lives and breathes and Ignis Haereticum will hex your life!

Luciferian Gnosis Tracklisting:
1. Sub Tuum Praesidium
2. Mysterium Fidei
3. Ad Serpentem Tortuosum
4. Luciferian Gnosis
5. Sekhem-Hra Apep
6. De Sphinge Revelationem Mysterii
7. Exercitatus Spiritualium
8. Sic Luceat Lux Vestra!

CONVICTORS Proclivity official video from their new full length album Envoys Of Extinction

WATCH HERE:

Take the motoring riff blasts of DISMEMBER, UNLEASHED, and early ENTOMBED, blend in the grime of a HIGH ON FIRE, add a quart of sludge, and you've got Germany's CONVICTORS. Now that's a damn tasty mixed drink.
The sound on this one is punishing and dirty as hell. The speed picking and drum blasts are downright smothering, the blitzkrieg only subsides when doomy slow to mid-tempo sections take over, and it's not long before severe beatings begin again. The vocals move from classic Swedish death growl to the gruff, Doomy guitar harmonies are heard throughout — melodic yes, but never sounding like the newer school of Swedish death metal. Rather, the lead work and the downshifts in tempo always produce a hopeless, miserable feeling. Wide smiles and sparkling eyes are nowhere to be found on this album.
In the span of twenty-eight years, CONVICTORS had only left us with one demo and an reunion EP before finally unleashing this debut album. A truly dangerous album made by a monstrous quartet. Be on the lookout.

Tracklisting of Envoys Of Extinction:
1. Preparedness 101
2. Epitome of Decay
3. Angel of Impurity
4. Let Malevolence Arise
5. Festering Infestation Strikes
6. Proclivity
7. Diabolical Female
8. Fragments
9. Oh je Dy
