While looking through a thrift store, amidst a bunch of junk, I spotted an interesting name. Took a look at it, it looked like metal, and I recognized the name of the bassist from another local band. Bought it and gave it a listen on the way home, it's some interesting heavy/power that sounds sort of like Inside Out/Parallels-era Fates Warning minus the progressive elements. The first track is good, the vocalist struggles a bit on the other three, likely due to a shortage of studio time.

Image

It was a very interesting find as it wasn't on MA and I can't find any mention of it online. It's always interesting to discover some old local stuff like this.

That's what I thought. I always heard horror stories about grab bags, but when I opened that box I legitimately shocked!

Yeah, Greg Puciato has been there for a over a decade now. Really hard to take him for another guy as he has a pretty unique voice. :p

I think so too, I don't recall Oath Bound ever having an a5 release..

Besides, those vinyls would be pretty fucking huge in comparison.

Bought these from morfumax via MA

CDs
Anhedonist ‎– Netherwards [USA, this needs a few more listens I think]
Axis Of Advance ‎– Obey [US, Red Stream version, I quite dig this band]
Bestial Mockery ‎– Slaying The Life [FRA, original SUA version with a pile of annoying empty tracks at the end and a hidden song, excellent album cover]
Disrupt ‎– Unrest [US, remastered reissue, wicked vocal attacks]

Patch
Heresiarch - Hammer Of Intransigence [I'm looking for a t-shirt with this print on it]

T-shirts
Witchrist - The Grand Tormentor
Ulcerate - Everything Is Fire

Lol of course it is a tape and limited to only 100 copies. I think the perspective and angle in which the pic was taken, may have tricked some of you.

Got these as part of a swap deal from Sadomizer in Italy via NWN!

Abigail - Alive... In Italy [POL, crikey this is rough ha ha]
Abigail / Barbatos / Cutthroat ‎– Satan's Revenge Live!!! [CHI, 3 separate recordings from all over the place, including covers]
Barbatos ‎– War! Speed And Power [GRE, some fairly insane stuff here, guest vocal from Damian of Ritual Carnage]
Cutthroat - Rape! Rape! Rape! [GRE, an album of cover songs]
Deathspell Omega ‎– Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice. [FRA, original, pretty cool stuff and some 'interesting' artwork, needs another listen I think]

Image

I got these directly from the band, Rob the guitarist/vocalist, because the label Obsidian records sank into the ocean...

Laceration Mantra ‎– Untitled [CDr, single with 2 new songs on it] new to Discogs
Laceration Mantra ‎– Prolonging The Pain [AUS, I got 5 of these to add to my trade list, killer Australian death metal with members of legendary band Misery and Transfear]

Hey Dread, that Unrest CD is indeed awesome, but in all honesty I think the remaster sucks the life out of it by making it too clean. I personally prefer the original version on that one.

I just got it because it was there, the original isn't expensive or hard to find etc
I first heard these guys on the Corporate Death compilation, which I also have.
Do you like Exit-13 too?

The band have just talked small about it.. 2 years ago or something. The only album I didnt have was Of Stargates and have wanted that album for years. Ars Moriendi is the version with additional guitars and I only had the original and the 2nd disc on Elixir is the Vinyl bonus tracks + the song "Der Wanderer Des Feuermondes"

According to Whyrhd they might release some demos and the original 1st version of Ars Moriendi that where never released before :)

Oh, thanks. I swear that before I asked that question I checked the re-release notes on this site and somehow either looked at the wrong album or managed to miss the exact details you just replied with. Weird.

I've never heard either version of Ars Moriendi, it's the only album of theirs I don't have, so it looks like I'll be hitting up the Grau webstore to get that and the Elixir reissue -- unless I can find a U.S. distro with this stuff, which is unlikely.

Speaking of U.S. distros, I must be the last person to learn of importcds.com. Their prices are really good for all sorts of stuff, and they're refreshingly particular about various album pressings. I just placed my second order with them, for, among other things, the first 2 Blut Aus Nord cd's and Cryptopsy's Whisper Supremacy for like 6 bucks each. And jazz stuff for even cheaper.
