This album points at how humankind is going into overdrive, how much it is thriving to go to faster and bigger extents every second. Nowadays, the most important thing is to yield increasingly, though we waste everything, food, water, and time. We could thrive on the creation of a real and strong bond between Men and Animals for instance. I really focus on two things in this album, those being the relation between mankind and its environment, and the relation with time. We want to control both spheres entirely. In spite of the fact that we can do everything faster than way back and have tremendously big cities, we keep on fearing nature and time. Nowadays, mankind doesn’t want to admit it’s nothing compared to space, time and nature on our planet.
It is a major issue, and I show how much it will undergo a rough future, not because of pollution, but because of evil we always display to each other. We don’t give a damn about anything. Mankind is just something which can’t spread anything better than war, disease. It’s going fast, as we're being overwhelmed by our own nature.

Paroles/ Lyrics:

Tu l'as éradiqué du vivant

Extract Review "Nekros exhales "the enjoyment of evil" with a voice, a putrid breath without becoming there silly brutish, there something who would call remind almost the godless time of The Black Legions - LLN if we did not feel this sound worked for a long time and this omnipresent bass."

Review [Translate in English] Dead Fucking Church M'Aaaagh X Fanzine - November MMXIII !

Kosmos [ Fr ] Le Vecteur Transcendantal ( DIGIPACK ) 2013

What idea to press only 100 copies of this album in sober and well-kept digipack? For Le Vecteur Transcendantal second album but the first meeting of Church with the French band KOSMOS, emanates a maturity and an understanding of the tables of the Black Metal law such as a record so surprising should make " more noise " in the underground genre. Long tortuous pieces cross others of more conventional duration and evoke the relations between Time, Man and Earth, so excessively negative - it seems , and thus with good reason. He expressed in this album a great melancholy through beautiful haunting melodies but also a latent violence there which asks only to show itself in the bend of a burst of anger. Nekros exhales "the enjoyment of evil" with a voice, a putrid breath without becoming there silly brutish, there something who would call remind almost the godless time of The Black Legions - LLN if we did not feel this sound worked for a long time and this omnipresent bass. We recommend to the amateurs of black metal in lack of new groups to approach KOSMOS who did not stop drawing attention, " a wound which will not close ".

Following the controversial and contradictory reviews (Legacy Magazine, Dead Fucking Church Fanzine, In Extremis Fanzine ...), we decided to upload the new Kosmos album to form your own opinion. Please comment

Legacy - The Voice From The Dark Side: A review with a Lack of realism about breaks in the rhythm ...

KOSMOS "Le Vecteur Transcendantal"
KOSMOS wurde 2010 von dem Franzosen Nekros ins Leben gerufen und ließ 2012 mit dem Debütalbum "From Innocence To Perversity" aufhorchen.

regardless of the music, how the hell could anyone make such a claim when LLN have been dead for years now?! There isn't a single active band left from that circle, correct me if I'm wrong...
Talk about some uninformed statement :durr:

If it's true it must be in some sort of underground fashion, something like "rehearsing in their garage and not recording/releasing anything", right? Because both bands are supposed to be split-up according to public sources.
Do you know the guys personally or something?

NEW GERMAN REVIEW
KOSMOS '' Le Vecteur Transcendantal '' (22.1.2014)

8,4/10

The monicker Kosmos, brainchild of the French musician Nekros, got to its second official release in two years. After having reviewed the debut "From Innocence To Perversity" (2012), I am confronted with "Le Vecteur Transcendantal" (2013) which, just like its predecessor, has only been released in a hundred copies in digipak.

The style of black metal featured on these ten tracks maintains a strong tendency to follow in the footsteps of the big names of the Nineties. Apart from this, though, there are some hints to more recent acts (such as the Swedish Svarti Loghin) that contribute to giving a more well-rounded sound when compared to Kosmos' first effort.

The artist managed to find a way to propose a more varied performance in a slightly longer work, thus preventing the tracks from getting boring. You will notice an improved attention to details and to the developing of melodic structures ("Vengeance Contre L'Infâme"), as well as more elaboration in terms of rhythm ("L'Ombre De Ton Géniteur N'Existe Plus"). The general atmosphere of this work manages to keep its halo of anguish and decay even during the acoustic interludes, led by the certainty that mankind is continuously making mistakes and digging its own grave.

The main theme of "Le Vecteur Transcendental" revolves around man and their relationship with nature and time, a bond that has become more and more conflicted up to the extremely fast pace of modern life. There is a constant struggle between mankind — always seeking for more power on nature — and the world which has no owner, where we are nothing but guests: this conflict is the background to Nekros' shrieks and to the sorrowful music that work together to expose our mistakes.

The production is relatively clear and we can distinctly hear the bass quite often, the visual part (again curated by xOv) adds a touch of cosmic vibe that fits the monicker well. These aspects also contribute to confirming Kosmos’ skills, and I believe this is a name that black metal listeners will appreciate.

New review by Ray Van Horn, Jr. - BLABBERMOUTH.NET.
7.5/10
Not to be confused with the KOSMOS side project of VOIVOD's Michel "Away" Langevin, this French black metal project is decidedly more sinister in sound, despite its inherent theme of mankind's desperate and pointless conflict in trying to master Nature. Not exactly your standard black metal fare, this sense of conscience to KOSMOS' second offering, "Le Vecteur Transcendantal" unveils refinement beyond its primarily harsh palettes that carries into its grueling presentation.

The variations spread throughout the compositions of "Le Vecteur Transcendantal" are remarkable despite the frequently rough nature of mastermind Nekros' work. The near seven minutes of "Vengeance Contre L'infame" reveal some of Nekros' most impressive playing on the album, aside from his burning solo on "Quand L'innocence Saigne…" He lays down effective guitar transitions and haunted melodies that match the constant mood swings of the track. Sorrow begets increasing agitation begets full-on outrage, but Nekros' note scrounging ends up working to the song's benefit. The 8:06 "L'ombre De Ton Geniteur N'existe Plus" takes numerous courses that unravel different tones ranging from hostile to reserved. "Vos Carcasses Vides Nourrissent La Terre" teeters toward the edge of insanity right off the bat with fantastic shredding and subsequent guitar wails, even if Nekros' strumming is so demanding here you can detect slight fatigue in waning portions of his flow.

Nekros' shivery vocal hissing throughout the album is terrifying, but that's no oddity for black metal. Considering he has a ton of coarse riffs to match his liquidy throat scrapes and gyrating bass lines, it's significant he sews together as much as he does. The drumming from Naja Atra (also responsible for the mixing and mastering of the album) repeatedly bops between steady, ugly clubs and thundering double hammers during the main eddies of the songs. On a slower song like "Enfonce Tes Clous Dans Nos Limbes Noircies", however, Atra's chops are on better display with plenty of explosive rolls at mid-tempo to give Nekros' attractive guitar scales an added sense of grace. Bringing up the banging bass lines during the instrumental portion of the song shows terrific musicianship, even as the final bars grow a hair messy in the guitar parts that seek escalation into the fadeout.

"Le Vecteur Transcendantal" is turbulent and sometimes choppy, but it's far more polished than many privateering black metal acts. What Nekros exposes on his second effort is a developing aptitude for chord progressions, instinctive signature roving and snappy bass slogs. As fearsome as the tones are throughout this album, Nekros has enough constitution to employ a peaceful guitar intro as counter to the brutal and forlorn "Violation Du Passe". The rocked out opening to the spooky closer, "Post-Humain Ou Quand Les Etoiles Brulerent A Notre Chute" helps the song cross over just a hair into slightly less caustic forms of metal. For only two guys at-work, it's a massive track. Thus the rough edges and minor shortcomings of "Le Vecteur Transcendantal" are easily forgivable, since Nekros is obviously passionate about his craft. The average listener is advised to back off, but black metal savants are going to want to give this incarnation of KOSMOS their full attention.

[NEW REVIEW]
Kosmos is a one-man project from the mind of Nekros, former member of the bands Inferi Gloria, Mourning Forest and Ravenskull. It came into existence in Drome, France back in 2010, and since then has been issuing new material independentaly. 2012 saw the release of the debut full-length From Innocence to Perversity, which was followed a year later with Le Vecteur Transcendantal in 2013. Kosmos has since signed with Mulligore Production, and their second album has been made available once more through them for a late March of 2014 release. But is this really an act worth joining the labels ranks, or is it just another drop in the barrel that is the growing French Black Metal movement?

The instrumental “La Jouissance du Mal” kicks Le Vecter Transcendantal off with slower riffs and a simple drum performance that offers up a brooding emotional toll. It’s a vibe that is quickly wiped away after the clean guitars just after the first minute. The sharp distortion that follows is rich with a catchy burdening sensation that intensifies slightly later on with blistering bass kicks and hooks that throw back to the pre-existing sadness. “Le Vecteur Transcendantal” doesn’t quite carry the same feeling, but the mournful atmosphere still exists in the main verses. Some passages and bridges, like around one minute forty seconds in that sounds choppy and ineffective to the flow of the performance can lose sight of what those areas established. While this makes fpr a rocky experience at times, the final product is still a memorable experience. Sadly, from this point on, things become sort of a grab bag that either matches the same quality of these two songs, or ends up more a standard example of the French Black Metal genre as a whole.

“Vos Carcasses Vides Nourrissent la Terre” has a truly moving start, as if capturing the spirit of a group of grieving mourners attending a funeral in the rain. The twanging bass is the perfect compliment to the rich guitars that make much of the performance a truly depressing experience. There are times where the music shifts slightly, but isn’t executed all that well, making passages like around the two-minute mark feel greatly out of place despite fitting the general tone. “Ansi je Chuchote aux Planetes de me Rendre Grace” takes a little bit to really sink its teeth into you. The explosive start is incredibly catchy, while some sections find a strong bass influence with some additional technicality thrown into the riffs. As the song progresses, speed is met with sorrow, building to grander heights thanks to the addition of buried cleaner chords towards the end of the performance.

“Vengeance Contra L’Infame” has some tight guitar work throughout the near seven minute long track, as well as some solid shifts between the abrasive faster pace and melancholic slower riffs that hits from time to time. Sadly the overall performance isn’t too inspiring. Even some of the hooks meant to set the mood come off a bit lacklustre. The most impressive pieces to the puzzle come around the five minute mark during the stunningly epic guitar solo, and again a minute and a half later for the second one, though not quite as strong. And then you have “Violation du Passe,” the album’s most venomous assault that is mostly composed of fast traditional Black Metal riffs and furious drumming. This is more a contemporary piece than anything, though some leads later on do their best to weave an atmosphere for the distant whispered rasps, only really succeeding during the guitar solos.

While one-man projects can sometimes be an absolute train wreck, Le Vecteur Transcendantal is a well put together slice of French Black Metal. There’s a good number of memorable songs that offer rich, emotional performances oozing with melodic Black Metal goodness, but the ones that stick out end up few and far between. Outside a handful of inspiring performances such as “La Jouissance du Mal” and “Ainsi je Chuchote aux Planetes de me Rendre Grace”, much of the music is pretty standard for this style and region save a few areas that may get a bigger push or moody guitar solos. Le Vecteur Transcenantal is definitely a nice little surprise from the underground, showing Kosmos as a project that can stand its ground among the leaders in this field, as well as being an entity worth taking note of.

Kosmos - Le Vecteur Transcendantal OFFICIAL LYRICS VIDEO

Lyrics (TRANSLATION)

Pathetic and masochistic race
You seem to exist only in the confines of your inner traps
Sweating the passage of time, with immoderate fear

All converges toward inherent dogma, increase, and filth as far
as the eye can see
Speed alone, the Transcendent Vector

While the universe takes its merry time
We sink into decadence

We survive believing we're actually alive
As we construct our descent into the tomb

Let's lift our heads and observe the azure colour of the skies
And be frightened of those entities made of glass and iron

Let's no longer be excessively contained
Let's put out the flame that consumes our oxygen

Die, perish in the despair that soaks and drowns your thoughts
Thoughts you do not even suspect exist
As they asphyxiate in the swarm of the excessive speed of time
and society

This is the vertigo of your epoch
The natural passage of time ceases to exist
You eradicated its possibility for the living.

Kosmos - Violation du passé Lyric Video (French)

LYRICS (Translation):
You have refused ignorance
Now you are insensitive
Not wrong for the mass
Look at where that has led you

A mechanical passion
A limitless love
Not for a common dream
But a macabre fate

Why scorn, those who have built
These majestic citadels, marked with valors
There was an epoch, where standing scornful
Toward the old ones, would've decimated you
