Yes, instead open a new thread every time a idol dies. Then we can post there our condolences, or our thanks to his work.

My only problem with that is that it'd be harder to tell at a glance who exactly has died. For a recent example, a quick glance at the forum on Sunday was enough to notify me of Oderus Urungus's death, but if all the RIP information was compiled into a thread with a generic topic title, there's a big chance I'd have simply forgotten to check it, and I would've subsequently been out-of-the-loop regarding an extremely important piece of metal news. I prefer the "breaking news headline" approach to forming a new thread for every death, especially when somebody notable enough to warrant a RIP thread passes away maybe only once every two months.
