Well, time for the final decision that wills tay for a while., and I have all the information rearing and ready to go...Yes, that is right. Babymetal finally released their Debut album. Time to see if they are worthy or not/ It is still questionable to say the least but imo, it does favor the metal side more than the Nu-metal side. Below I linked the songs for the entire album, and... see the mods duke it out? All the songs are the same as they were on the singles before them. Two songs posted are the instrumental versions but they use the same instrument tracks. As the album just
compiles the Singles into an LP.

(also, the official release date is the 26th, but there was a prerelease at midnight on the 25th in Japan. (about 6 hours before this post))

Sounds like a mix of electronic crabcore-style post-hardcore (i.e. Abandon All Ships), modern alternative rock that followed the trend and production of melodic groove metal (i.e. Sonic Syndicate), mallcore like Slipknot, some sort of ridiculous J-rock/J-pop, and crappy melodic groove metal. It's some sort of J-mallcore, not metal.

So what about Digimortal tracks I posted on the previous page? Can anyone please review whether they are acceptable or not? Sorry for bothering again.

can i resubmit it now?

I haven't heard this release yet but isn't Unhappy mostly ambient? Do you have any links to songs to prove they are the "Raw Black Metal" that DIR claims they are?

yes you can check the bandcamp:
they are a dsbm/raw bm band

i also read that they will release another split with Warground on DIR and another EP but i don't know on which label

^I blacklisted them last year for being more ambient than metal. Downloaded a 2014 release ("Past Is Dead") now and it's noisy, distorted tracks mixed with some mellow acoustic ones. Not much metal at all, really.

@MeatWolf: I'll listen once I can bring myself to it.

I hear a little more metal in the new Unhappy record than Azmodes but still, the majority of it is either Ambient or drone so I have to agree that we'd need a release where the vast majority of it is metal to accept them.

To those of interest,

My band, FÜK, has just been denied from the metal archives.

I write this not because I really care about the band being listed in the metal archives, but because there is a present and pressing need for me to explain my extreme dissatisfaction and general condemnation of this organization, so called "Encyclopaedia Metallum."

Has everyone here forgotten the Stoked and Triumphant path of the True?
Do the words Heavy Metal mean anything to you other than buttcore, technical progressive assgrind or the like?
Where have the warriors of the Past, the Tenders of the Flame, the Champions of the Steel gone?

Why are bands like KISS, AC/DC, RATT, FOGHAT, URIAH HEEP, ZZ TOP among MANY others, neglected from the metal archives, even though these bands were absolutely monumental in helping to build and shape the legacy of Heavy Metal today, albeit in its more primitive and more blues and rock-based form.

I call bullshit. These bands rock HARDER, LOUDER and more skillfully than 99.99% bands out there today. These bands are among the Truest of the True, yet they are, for some reason, purposefully excluded and deemed "Not metal enough."

Those words, "not metal enough." What does it mean to be more metal than something else? And why should this qualify a band for the archives? Sure, the archives are METAL archives, yet there is much more to metal than just METAL, I think we'll all agree. Why have these ancient Stallions of the Highway been left out to rot? Younger generations of metalheads are, by and large, so vastly uneducated about the long history of "metal." But what is Metal without ROCK!? These older, forgotten bands, they ROCKED!

So then why do newer bands today get identified as "metal" despite the fact that they DON'T FUCKIN ROCK!? WHERE'S THE RIFF? WHERE'S THE RIFF? Keep asking yourself that.

All of this may be seemingly unrelated to my band's rejection. However, it is very related. I encourage you all to listen to my music, if you wish, and listen for yourself. Although the exact reasons "theunrelentingattack" deemed the music "not metal enough" are unknown, they are easy to speculate. 1) Perhaps "too punk." To that I say, Fük you, Punk and H. M. are merely brothers of the ROCK 2) It sounds too "old" sounding, as in, it draws from more blues/hard rock influences, to which I say you're an absolute fükin moron, and there's no cause for me to even explain myself on this one.

I could go on, but I'm frankly really tired of typing and explaining what is, and forever will be, common sense to the Stoked.

I could care less if you re-consider, delete my post, ban me, whatever. I'm done with this website. You are goddamn, uninformed, mislead, capital-driven fools. I'll be releasing a new album soon called ROCK CITY, and so I'm just going to shove a little promo in here for me mk.

Check out the band's new website: http://www.fukyouup.com

FÜK YOU UP

~ H. M. Lord Lucifer

X6X6X6, you should have stuck with the PM you sent to our Facebook page, calling us "poser faggots". All things considered, it was considerably less embarrassing/a waste of time than this truly asinine post. Admittedly not as entertaining, though.

EDIT: I see the main reason it was rejected was that there is no valid release. Try to actually read the rejection message next time. It wasn't blacklisted either.

I've been thinking long and hard about this but here it goes:
I got a rejection for my submission of Equisa.
I can relate to that since the album is about halfway metal while the rest is more quiet work. I would like to ask you guys to reconsider since those quiet songs also have their roots in metal. On their website they also have listed three (other) songs of their EP that was only digital which are metal. This product was too short to meet the digital only requirements.
Listening to both and adding it up however does meet all criteria: their overall sound is metal.
I know why you have the rule that at least one release needs to be predominantly metal but here we have a band that has one predominantly metal release (the EP) which is too short for the rules since it's digital only and one release that's not predominantly metal.
Listening to this band will also make sure that it's not a matter of a band rooted in another style of music that has some Metal elements but that it's a metal band which has evolved and writes music that has it's roots in metal but which doesn't always have clear metal riffing in it's songs.

Apparently, this post was left unanswered...

I agree strongly with Rob. Equisa sounds pretty much like mid-era The Gathering (How To Measure A Planet?-album comes to mind...). Their album (called 'Strange Release'...a wink to The Gathering's single "Strange Machines, perhaps?) is out now, as well.

Also, the band is currently participating in a metal band contest (and winning). Not that that matters for how they sound, but at least it shows their heart is in the right place ;-) And with The Gathering being on hiatus, this band might fill that void some day.

Dear moderators & associates of the MA-board,

A few days ago I tried to add one of the projects in which I and my acolytes are involved: the black metal project De Vermis Mysteriis (BE). It got rejected because of lack of evidence of being 'metal enough'.

To disprove this statement I would like to provide some samples which are the proof of the project's 'metalness':
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxmAx6qzMyc OR https://soundcloud.com/ordo-omegae-abso ... es-of-time
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7kkpZN1SE4 OR https://soundcloud.com/voidheart-blackm ... nner-seals

Could you reconsider the decision?

Regards,

O.O.A.

There is no statement to disprove. You were simply asked to provide songs to listen to since the submission lacked any links to music.

Music sounds okay. How many copies of the CD are there? How are they being distributed?

Thanks for your reconsideration!

In total there were 20 hand-numbered copies, released and distributed by me and my associates in the O.O.A. (the bandmembers of DVM).

Is this in fact a new album? The 2013 Dang album (Back Cover Here), which has been whitewashed from all previous webpages, is the exact same as this "new" 2014 album; same cover, same name, same tracklist (and track order). That would imply that the band re-recorded the same exact album, but heavier, a year after the first one. Viewing thru their Facebook feed, they removed the 2013 album and then signed to No Remorse, where they claimed this re-release as a debut.

I didn't investigate the matter thorougly, the important thing was to check if the band was indeed metal and it was.

My friend's solo project "Turenn" had been blacklisted, he has now released a full-length album under the name. http://turenn.bandcamp.com/ It is currently only available digitally, but a cassette release will most likely follow shortly. Can Turenn please be removed from the blacklist? Thanks!

@Däng: Ah well, could be I blacklisted them hastily. I remember hearing too much rock last year, but I checked the album again and it seems okay.

Why is Genöcide, black listed? I have their record and thought it was a very good thrash metal/punk album.

I’m just wondering why Suicide Silence was blacklisted, I mean I hate the band and deathcore but its certainly metal. For example you have Killswitch engage, which is way less metal that Suicide Silence. I just find it to be a sort of elitist mentality, if there some other case I would love to know, because while this band is certainly BAD metal, it is metal nonetheless.

I didn't blacklist Turenn because of the release - I blacklisted them because 90% of the album is ambient - there's very little metal in that.

There's no blacklist reason - so a mod (maybe me if I can get to it, will have to listen to the samples you provided)

same reason as the other hundred times this has been asked - they aren't metal. You can find it to be elitist if you want but it's not going to get them on the site.

Oh, I remember that band because it was hard to get their album in mp3 five years ago. They were on the site before but moderator Witcher delete 'em two times (in 2010 and 2011) for being old-school hardcore punk. It wouldn't hurt to check out all bands that were deleted by Witcher because at least ten bands deleted by him returned to the site in last two years.

Unfortunately we don't have a complete log of that. Feel free to send me Genöcide's most metal release for evaluation if you think it's predominantly metal. What I've heard by them is punk but I'm not very familiar with them.

This site has the album "Submit to Genocide" for download I still have the vinyl in my collection also but don't have a needle or a computer that works to transfer it myself. Since I'm on my phone I can't download it but I think the link works.

Excuse me, why is the band Jamrud blacklisted? I think the band have fulfilled the requirements to be on these Metal Archives. Beside, they are not only heavy rock band, but also heavy METAL band. I have heard all of their albums, and they sound more akin to heavy metal than hard rock. If you want to look which of their albums is/are the most metal, just look at Youtube for "jamrud full album" (I think this can't be considered infringement, as the uploaders intend the their own uploads as preview). Please tell me about what you think after you hear their albums

I think just because the band is not metal in the least bit, that shouldn't make the band not approved as a metal band. Even actually many metal bands incorporate several songs that are not metal in their albums, don't they?

Sorry, sir. I was rushing for school at that time, so I also rushed my writing. Thanks for telling me.

I believe that was the part he wanted you to focus on man, not the grammar.

Why is Barnabas (US) blacklisted? Surely Feel the Fire, cheesy synths and all, is metal over hard rock.

Anywho, singles are not enough. Has to be a full-length or at least something more concrete and consistent than a single. Especially considering the output of this band to date.

In 2012 you wanted full-length album and there it is:
