Sounds like you enjoy the stuff that's a little more straight forward, structurally speaking, and death metal influenced so here's some good starting points beyond what I'd call the big 4 of grindcore.

Cretin (about as close to Repulsion as you can get)
http://cretin.bandcamp.com/releases

Regurgitate
http://regurgitate.bandcamp.com/album/e ... e-sessions

Brutal Truth
http://earache.bandcamp.com/album/extre ... -responses

And here's some newer stuff that's a little harsher but still relatively straight forward you may dig.

Sixbrewbantha
http://sixbrewbantha.bandcamp.com/album/s-t-lp

Sacridose
http://sacridose.bandcamp.com/

And here's some that have more death metal influence of varying degrees

Chronic Tomb
http://dungeonsofdank.bandcamp.com/

Battalion Slaughtered
http://battalionslaughtered.bandcamp.com/

Blood Freak
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vleLhx7Rd4A
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLaoNpwSQYU

Frightmare

So basically it sounds like you like old school Grindcore and oldschoold grind mixed with old school death or Carcass influenced bands.

Check out Defecation right away and you'll love them. Old grindcore very much like ND with Mitch Harris from Napalm Death.

Also, definitely check out Impetigo. Old school grind/death.

Assuck and their album Misery Index is an ABSOLUTE MUST if you have not heard it yet. It's brutal, but still should fit with your tastes and it's a grindcore classic.

You might like Lock Up which is grindy death that has Shane Embury from Napalm Death as well as Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates.

As a Carcass fan you should definitely check out both General Surgery and The County Medical Examiners and also Nasum who are one of my favorite grind bands ever.

Although more of a death metal band, if you haven't listened to Autopsy you would probably like them as an old school death band.

Though they aren't grind, for early influential Death metal (in fact, they may have been the first or one of the first death metal bands along with Death and Necrophagia) definitely check out Master. I'd be surprised if you haven't already.

I'm sure you would also like Necrophagia, especially their early albums for old school grimy death metal, but you probably already listen to them.

And I'll second Cretin as a newer Grind band very influenced by Repulsion.

Hey guys can you guys tell me some bands similar to the last rotten sound ep species at war I like the groovier side of that album like salvation and the game. Im also a big fan of gridlink if that helps anyone.

Also do you guys know any bands like the day everything became nothing or torsofuck? I really enjoy the instrument side of them but the pitch shift deep vocals kill it for me I dont mind a normal guttural but the really deep stuff ruins it for me.

thanks in advance. :)

Actually The Day Everything Became Nothing claims that they don't use a pitch shifter. Maybe Cock and Ball Torture but they use a shifter too.

The new Jig-Ai is fantastic. Quite a bit more variety than their usual stuff, and it's light on samples

Give Sacridose a shot - http://sacridose.bandcamp.com/

Nak'ay - http://nakay.bandcamp.com/album/split-10-w-archagathus
(There's low vocals in there too but they trade off frequently)

Burnt Church - http://burntchurch666.bandcamp.com/
(Not so much shrieked, as rasped but still primarily high pitched so there ya go)

I advise my fellow grinders to give some listens to Norway's Beaten to Death.
http://beatentodeath.bandcamp.com/

They play deathy grindcore with an off kilter, twangy guitar sound, with some nice, almost pretty, post-rockish melodies. Catchy as hell.

That...was pretty fucking amazing.

If anyone else is looking for a somewhat similar sound I highly recommend Head Hits Concrete's latest EP, "Hollowed Out Human Husk".

About damn time we have more discordant grind.

I didn't even know Head Hits Concrete was back together. Great news.

That Beaten to Death... kinda crappy. Sorry. couldn't make it through 2 songs. Not going to bother giving it third chance.

Ugh, blast beats do not grindcore make. That was pretty awful... really awful actually. Those guttural vocals, if that's even what you call that :ugh:

You might like Suffering Mind and Feastem for screaming/shrieking vocals. I wouldn't quite call Phobia or Rotten Sound shrieking or screaming vocals, those are more like growls. Nasum, Gadget, Six Brew Bantha, Misery Index, Nashgul, Looking for an Answer, Ingrowing, P.L.F., and Mumakil are more along those lines.

Gonna add who I think are the two most under-rated Grindcore bands on Earth:

I agree with both^^

and what dontlivefastjustdie said about beaten to death... yea that's pretty much the nicest way i can state what I thought about it.

I knew it would be shit if someone says post rock melodies and grindcore together. XxNEVERxGOINGxTOxBExACTUALxGRINDCORExWITHxTHATxDESCRIPTIONxX

I like swarrrm. But I don't consider them grindcore. Nor do I remember them having post rock or any melodies in anything they did. They aren't one of those bands I honestly care all that much about but I have a cd of. Oh I just looked up it's a split with Bloodred Bacteria and I liked BB better.

That's not grindcore at all. And I hated that. That's like shitty screamo with shitty noise playing at the same time. Utterly horrible.

Not sure how many of you will be stoked on this, but I've jammed the new Jig-Ai a few times since last night. It's pretty cool, kinda loses me towards the end of the album, but is overall some of their best stuff (and definitely their best recording IMO).

I'll have to give that band another shot. I remember hearing their earlier stuff and just frankly not caring. Wasn't interesting enough to bother getting or investigating more.

Back for some more Recs that sound as close to "From Enslavement to Obliteration" as possible. Not just the style of play but the tone of the instruments and vocals as well.

Try Realized's 21st Century Terminal World, from Japan. It reminds me of FETO, but then again I haven't heard it that many times to be sure if that's what you're after. ;)

Ah shit, had to go ahead and hear Realized once again (or several times for that matter) after dropping the name here. Cool stuff no doubt.

Now, does anyone know where the hell I can buy that CD? Because if what's written on the label's page is true the guy only accepts payment by cash... And I must admit to not knowing any grind distros. Is there any place I could try and find a copy of this?

that Realized record is cool, but I don't think I'd call it FETO-worship. Sure, it has some things in common with that record, the lower vocals and a few guitar riffs here and there, but to me it sounds more like Disrupt with more blasty parts.

EDIT: listening back to this album, it is certainly incorrect to call this album FETO worship.

Yeah, aside from a few similarities I wouldn't call it worship. Solid record though.

Nothing really comes to mind for FETO worship. That production has rarely been reproduced and is unique enough that even if a band is doing something stylistically similar it won't really SOUND all that similar.

Maybe give Sakatat a shot? They remind me of that era of ND at times

Well, I didn't call it FETO worship to be honest. I just said it somewhat reminded me of FETO, which coincidently it does here and there. I particularly like how they integrate that riff from Unchallenged Hate. ;)

Rescued From Life and FDA Rekotz would maybe be your best bet to find that release, but I can cosign for Acid Redux, Pan del Muerte, Third Eye Grind, and No Fucking Labels for being run excellently. They are consistently putting out cool releases, and they get your order shipped in a timely manner and pack records safely.

Finally got around to listening to the whole "21st Century Terminal World" album. The riffing is much more metal oriented in a lot of cases but they clearly are taking heavy influence from FETO. This was very much what I was looking for, thank you very much.

Sakatat was good as well, didn't like them as much as Realized but still good shit, thanks for the recommendation. I'll gladly take any others.

Seems like US and Canada stuff dominates the discussion here (and for good reason, ludicrous amount of quality grind coming outta the midwest US and Canada right now) but Brazil is killing it right now too and I have been enjoying these bands thoroughly.
